Attending your appointment

Our address

We are at:

The Hive Health

The Hub

First Floor

20 London Road

SA11 1LE

London Road is a one way road; we are on the right hand side as you drive down, shortly after the turning for the Ropewalk.

Parking

There is a small private car park in front of the clinic.

We request that you only park in the designated spaces for the duration of your appointment, as the spaces will be required throughout the day.

Our spaces are on the left hand side of the building (as you are looking at it from the road)

If the car park is full there is often spaces along London Road and the side streets which varies between 1-2 hour stays.

We are also a short walk away from the Neath town centre car parks.

Accessibility

Please note that we are located on the first floor; there are stairs leading up to our floor (no lift). The stairs are even and there are handrails. If you have any questions regarding accessibility please contact us.

We have a toilet available on site (unisex).

Waiting room

When you come up the stairs please have a seat in our waiting room, where your practitioner will be out to meet you.

During your appointment

What to wear

Please wear comfortable clothing, ideally with access to the area you'd like us to assess (e.g. vest top, shorts or loose fitting trousers). Quite often we can treat through clothes, however if we are using (for example) laser therapy as part of your treatment we'll need direct access to the area. We have gowns for you to get changed into if needed.

Duration

The First Visit usually lasts approximately an hour.

Price and payment

The First Visit is £60

We accept payment via card or cash.

If you are intending to pay via insurance please contact us.

We usually process the payment at the end of the visit. If you'd like to pre-pay, please contact us.

What to expect

Case History

We will ask questions about your general medical history and have a discussion about what has brought you to us. This is an important stage as it gives us an idea how your pain or complaint came about, and clues about how to manage it and prevent it from happening as often in the future.

Physical Examination

After the case history we then do the physical examination which includes neurological and orthopaedic tests. For ease of movement we tend to need access to the area so it's a good idea to wear loose fitting clothes.

Report of Findings

This is when we have a review of the findings from the examination (the diagnosis) and discuss what we can do to help. We develop an individual treatment plan for you which will let you know how many treatments it may take and what to expect during each session.

If we don't think that we can help then we will refer you to an appropriate health professional or to your GP.

First Treatment

Unless we have to perform extra investigations we are usually able to treat on your first visit.

If we do not have enough time for treatment or if we have to refer for further investigations then we will book in your first treatment on an alternate day free of charge.
